Cold Hard Truth

In today's Straits Times were 2 big advertisement on the 3rd and 4th page;

"Learn When To Enter & Exit A Trade With Laser Accuracy - The Easy Way"

"YES! I Finally Found An Easy Way To Make Money Trading Forex"

I wonder why these marketers are sharing their easy money making secret, so stupid! should keep it to themselves and make plenty of money without anybody knowing it.

After being a professional trader for 25 years, I still find it very challenging making those big bucks in such an easy manner. 30 minutes a day? Who are they kidding?

Most of my fellow traders are putting in more than 10 hours of hard work, monitoring the market day and night. We must be cock! for not knowing such easy strategies exist to make easy money.

These marketers can easily put up their strategies on the computer to do auto trading for themselves and make the big bucks, why spent so much money advertising and time teaching others?

Or are they making the big buck for themselves just by teaching? Every second there is a Fool being born, I have been a Fool many times over too. Are they willing to show their daily transaction statements and monthly statements for just a couple of months to show proof?

I'm also a trainer as well as a professional trader with a impeccable track record to show. I'm still trading and I know how tough it is to trade for a living now, I'm not going to lie about it, that's the Cold Hard Truth.

The very first and most important Principle of Trading by Mark Douglas is "Anything Can Happen"

I'm unable to predict where the market is going tomorrow, I can only observe the market and trade accordingly to whatever direction of it's movement.

The earthquake will have an impact on the Japanese economy, so the Japanese stock market might be hit further.

I'm surprised that the Yen strenghten further while the Kiwi react differently by dropping after the earthquake.

I would like to short the Yen on sign of weakness.

The US market recovered and closed almost day high on Friday, a rather bullish signal.

Being a scalper, I try to be as objective as possible though I'm bias on the long side for the Simsci. But, I do cut my losses when I'm wrong.

ya, i was supprise japan was not mention in this post.

friday started with a sell down and into the afternoon where i was so excited over bagging so much orders only to learn that japan had suffer its biggest earthquack in her recorded history.

my heart when into a deep dive and sink. it is those few times when you "make money" and really feel sick about it, almost ashame of it.

the only comfort i have is that i hardly see any japanese riots or cry or beg. they are really strong and calm when hit with such disaster. i really respect them in this regards.

just like trading, we would not know how bad it is until one experience the pain and the ability to stand up again. we are very lucky indeed.

well for this post, they are right when they just pick up the winning trades and ignore the losing one.

we like to twist our words so as to "fit into the enviroment" until we ourself are confuse with the actual meaning or feeling behind it. in life, we can kid others and we can kid ourself but not in trading.

it was the first time i saw snow when i was in japan at sendai on the way to hokkaido.

in the bullet train me and my wife was enjoying our "ba qua" where we brought from s'pore. yes you can eat in the train. the smell of the "ba qua" cover the train and everyone were looking at us wonder what we was eating.

we decided to tear small pieces and offer to some of them. some accept and some reject but they always have smile on their face. this is the only country me and my wife dare to trevel all on our own. god bless them.

What an exciting 2 days of live trading for my students, didn't have much time to chat.

The volatility was fantastic especially the Nikkei, just panic selling all the way and back up again. Good for scalping but can get burnt just as easily.

haha my head is still spinning. hate this kind of market action, one way street.

dispite there will be some rebound, i still think the market is very weak. take any opportunity to unload or short.

good luck to everyone.

Fat88Trader said...

Sure, the market will need some time to digest all these bad news.

finally a chance to breath. unbelievable, hardly any chance to sell. those new bird will get themselves kill if they trade N225. hope kongming is not one of them.

Fat88Trader said...

Don't worry about Kongming, I know him personally, he is a damn good trader.

I will put my money with him anytime.

It's so suprising that the Yen went to an all time high this morning before easing off. I suppose the big boys are squeezing all the shorties and force them to cut at the high.

Didn't have a chance to sell.

yap, it started last night. with the stock market in this condition, i hardly pay any attention to the other markets.

my survival instinct had kick in (haha) staying whole night watching the dow crashing down.

really forcing myself to sell (as well as buying ofcos), i got to make very sure my portfolio will not be like the nuclear reactor facing overheat and meltdown.

although anticipate the correction perfectly, i did a terrible mistake by buying in too aggressively, my bag are almost full.

every time when i get nervous, the trend will change, i call for the bottom of this correction.

haha anywhere its free of charge.

Hi fatt,

This round, I miscalculated the impact from the nuclear breakdown. On monday, Japan said they can cope, tue briefing the PM started with " I ask you to remain clam"..I saw this in movie where Big Shit is happening..

I am caught with some options, guess I have to manage it till expiry.

Hope you are doing fine.

coconut said...

knn, can't the cash market see where the futures are going?

Coconut,

i think this time is Big Shit....

coconut said...

"big shit"? i only need a dead cat bound to off load some stocks. at almost my position limit, i can't function as a "market marker", it is very risky.

the only strategy left is to "spread" trading or go for hiding. although i can handle draw back but it had eaten almost half of what i made last year!
